On the Mend
The extractions went better than I expected. I went to sleep, I woke up and now my whole body feels sore. Apparently, that's a common side effect of anaesthesia. I spent the night in the hospital, without using my CPAP and I still awoke the next morning. Apparently my snoring wasn't too bad.
So for now, I'm on the mend. They gave me Percocet for the pain (which hasn't been needed or used) and Amoxycillin for the antibiotics (oh boy, horse pills). I'm on a diet of soft foods as I've no molars on the lower left side, and chewing is rather difficult.
Soft foods
Poached egg on cold baked beans with some bread
- I'm trying to perfect poaching eggs, partly for the soft foods requirement and partly to try my hand at Eggs Hollandaise/Florentine. Next, I'll need to perfect the Hollandaise recipe.
Soup, soup, soup, soup.
- By and large, veggies are right out for me at the moment so the only way I can have them is boiled and blended. Dinner last night was a variation on the Bacon Cheese soup found here. We didn't have celery, so I subbed in extra carrots, a green pepper and the rest of a small container of spinach which was a few days from turning. Additionally, I used a full box of Campbell's chicken stock and a half box of water. I simmered it up for 30 minutes, and then ran my hand blender through it. Yay vegetables!
Ice cream
Yogurt - they actually had full fat yogurt in the hospital; how I've missed thee.
At this point, I'm trying todecide if I should blend up a steak.
