The Tao of Costco
This may have been a new record for us. We were in and out of Costco in 27 mintes. Once I got my hands on the cart, I made for the meat section like I was rounding turn 4 at Daytona going for the checkered flag.
About once every quarter, we make a run to stock up on meats which I then take up, portion up and freeze. Our freezer went from this:

Having been filled with
Having a freezer full of meat means we're less likely to eat out. A normal run will consist of 2 packs of chicken breasts, 2 salmon filets, a package of pork tenderloins and lately a couple of things of rib steaks. When it comes to the rib steaks, we'll actually only pull a single steak and cook it up, then split it between us.
When we think about it, just eating the steaks alone breaks even as it prevents us from running out and buying dinner. And for the next little bit, when we're tempted to run out for dinner, we'll chide each other with, "We shouldn't go out, we've got that freezer full of meat". Actually, that helps with meal planning, which is what really cuts down on trips to the Works.
Sometimes.
