In 1814 We Took a Little Trip
Along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Mississip.
Well, it wasn't the Battle of New Orleans, but we did battle the not so extreme cold, the not really damp atmosphere, and the not really high winds to get some more of Foran_object's shed up today. I "helped" Kewarken, Nail, along with newcomers Gegan and Mreg (see if you can figure that one out) raise walls, trusses and roofing. Mme Foran was suitably tasked with ensuring her husband did not misplace/destroy body parts as he's prone to do, so she had her hands full. She also made a wonderful jambalaya to warm theslave labour willing volunteers. Next time, I'm on cooking duty.
You know you just might be Canadian when you listen to an archive of a CBC Broadcast about Butter Tarts, hosted by Peter Gzowski (ZAWH-sky). Yes, I've got Butter Tarts on the brain. So much so, I'm thinking about what it would take to make eggnog butter tarts... and I hate egg nog, but it would be a recipe that is mine. I'm sure I could find some willing volunteers to help in taste tests though.
Finally, Happy First Anniversary to Null and his lovely wife, BritCanadaGal. Also, we welcome Null back from his latest trip to the Fatherland where he toiled under the loving and watchful eye of our benevolent German Overlords. All we really know is he now craves SchwipSchwap (Pepsi + Fanta Orange mix), and has an unatural aversion to meat, spatzel and sauce. Ach, Mein leiderhosen!
