The Tooth Shall Set You Free!
Short version - they've changed their message and my number is no longer listed as an emergency contact number.
Long version - I did get a call back from the Royal College on Friday. The doctor in charge of their professional practices department was wondering where I practicing and had I been affiliated with the clinic before. Needless to say, I cleared up any misunderstanding that I was anything even vaguely resembling a dental professional.
In fact, when she found out that I was a computer tech support, she was a little distressed. Dentists, like other medical professional, have a legal requirement to provide emergency contact information for their patients. Moreover, that contact information has to be correct. So, after a brief chat, she told me that she'd contact the dentist informally.
A couple hours later, she phoned back and told me she'd left a message and would follow up this week. Apparently, the message was received loud and clear. Finally, after a year of wrong numbers, and the clinic knowing about it for four months, the message was finally changed.

At least the people who were calling you spoke English. On my cell number in Toronto I used to get wrong numbers at least 4 times a week but none of the people who called spoke English. It was very frustrating and only stopped when I got rid of that number.
I had someone call me five times in a two day period, babbling at me in Hindi each time. When I answered in English I got a very confused, "Oh, isn't this Anjali's number?"
Every. Single. Time.
Do I sound like Anjali, asshole?
Anjali! Is that you??
WWJD ... hahaha, I laughed so hard had to read the whole thing to hubby. Made my day. :)
/waves to Serdic. If you ever get a hankering, stop in on the boards. There's talk of moving servers and possibly realms. Lythrum too!
Cheers and hugs
