Finance
It's been over a month since I got the consoldation loan and things have really eased up. This is in tandem with a reduction in spending on my part; I take my lunch most every day now, and make breakfast at home. While it may not seem like a lot, it's probably saving 50 bucks a week in cafeteria expenses. For the first time in a long time, I've been able to contribute to my savings and still have money left over to pay bills.
I didn't realize how much I thought about my financial situation until I didn't have to think about it anymore.
Job
I applied for an internal tech writers position within the company. I'd mentioned on my review that I needed a change, so when the spot came up, I was pretty much informed that I had to apply for it. They're right, I had to apply and in truth, I hope I get it. While I haven't written much lately, I do enjoy writing. And, I like to think I'm pretty good at it.
This would be an opportunity to get some techncial writing experience on my resume, and might convince the recruiters that call me that I'm more than IT Helpdesk. In point of fact, I'm not in the IT field, as my support experience is more directed towards developers and not people who can't read their email.
CPAP
I finally got fitted for my CPAP machine. You see, back in November I'd had a couple of sleep clinics and been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. Basically, my airway would relax while sleeping and I'd be unable to breathe. This would result in sleep level being raised to a level that I could breathe properly, but would prevent me from fully entering REM sleep.
I've had it a week now; still haven't used it. Maybe tonight.

I've been taking my lunches since I started back to work. I'd had a lot of disappointing meals out, so it was nice to eat my own food again. I started making large pots of soup and then freezing portion sizes in a ziploc bag. Then I'd just throw one in the lunchbox on my way to work and heat it up in the microwave. It was a real life saver. I'm glad your debt reduction is going well too. It is such a liberating feeling to come out from under it. Oh, and could you e-mail me? I lost your addy. :)
