I quit.
7 years, 2 months and 21 days later, I have done something I've never done; I submitted my resignation letter. Two weeks from today, I will be finished with my current employer and moving to my new one. I'll be going to the same company that Nail and WWJD work for, as well as the ubitquitous Rocket. To be honest, the fact I'll be working with them are reasons both for and against. =)
Unlike dating where I'd rather be in no relationship rather than in a bad relationship, the same really can't be said for employment. The nature of money being what it is, a bad job that pays the bills is better than no job that doesn't pay the bills. I've yet to convince The Singer that I should basically stay home and be her cooking man slave.
It doesn't feel real, quite yet. I keep repeating, I quit my job, to myself. I know The Singer is getting tired of hearing me say that. I'm sure that once I've made the change I'll notice it. Regardless, this is something that's been on my mind a lot lately - work, what I want out of it, and whether or not I could get it without changing companies.
Apparently not. So, here's to a new chapter of my life. I'm sure I'll have more to say once it's sunk in.

congrats!
Who?
Wow. Congratulations. Although, as a former employee of the place you're going to, I also have to offer my condolences ;)
I do hope you enjoy the new place and the new job. If nothing else, a change is (usually) good.
Actually, it's not there... it's the big black building on Terry Fox.
Congratulations on the new gig. I hope they deserve you.
Woot!! Grats on taking the big leap. :) I hope that it all works out for you.
I believe there are a couple of companies operating in that building, my former employer being one of them.
I do hope you enjoy the new challenge.
