Investment Strategy

Research till your head hurts, then scream Banzai! and charge fearlessly to victory or death.

Well, my head hurts that's for sure. All that remains is the fearless charge; the Singer can attest to my screaming. Each time I think I'm getting a handle on things, I come up with more questions and possiblities. So, I have to work to rein myself in. It's true that the devil is in the details. Ignoring the fine print can be costly, but by the same token, you can get swallowed up in the details, never to be seen again.

As a wise friend once said, if you're not really confused, then you're not really learning. I have to remember to a) take my time and b) realize that a well diversified, high value, low cost portfolio is not something I'm going to have right off the bat.

Really, that's something I need to take to heart for things other than investing; what my parents have is the result of many years of hard work, and they didn't start out with a house and two cars. And it's not something that I should realistically expect to start out with either.
