Scone with the Wind
Frankly my dear, I don't... What? You have scones? Well, that's another matter entirely. I managed to scam my nana's scone recipe while I was in TO from a rather reputable source.
2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
3 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup milk
1. Blend with pastry blender until they form small crumbs.
2. Mix in milk and knead dough
3. Turn out onto counter, and flatten to the size of a 9 in round pan.
4. With a cookie cutter/glass make 8-10 scones from the dough
5. Bake at 400F for 20 minutes or until golden
Now, I got 12 scones out of the mix, though some are a bit thinner than the others. I don't know how this is gonna turn out, but I'm gonna keep on using this recipe until I perfect it. You'll have to eat my mistakes, I'm sorry to say. (ed. Oh God, they're good. I doubt if they'll make it to work tomorrow.)
