Opa! Happy Gobble Gobble Day

Well, it's Thanksgiving here in the Great White North, and I'm down on the farm with the folks. One turkey down, and one to go. I'm not a fan of turkey, but I'll just go along to get along. It's the same reason I don't bitch about sitting at the kiddie table whenever I go to my aunt's for dinner. Mind you, I did a double take this year as ma cousine was drinking her own Bacardi Breezer. That's right, she's 19 now. Christ, I'm getting old. I remember bottle feeding her when she was 4 months old. Time flies, and I'm sitting here wondering where the last two decades have gone.

I did get a great present tonight. My uncle had made a sweet cutting board for me. It's made of oak, cherry and maple. He even seasoned it for me too! I guess he earned those cookies then.

In other cooking related news, I'm happy to say that my mother does not regret giving birth to me, as I have been able to reproduce the scones she loves so much. I had to bake them onsite for her, and all I asked was that they have the ingredients ready. Needless to say, two trips to the store were made and a huge sigh of relief was breathed.

Finally, congrats to The Greek and his new wife! I'm sure Nail will be moving slowly for the next few days. Greek weddings'll do that to ya. Opa!

I'm a cooking nerd, I think a cutting board is an awesome gift! Glad you enjoyed your Thanksgiving. :)
