I blog, therefore I am
Not really much to blog about this week as I didn't create anything exciting for dinners. Still, I managed to not order out, and stick to my budget. It's making a difference, even after a couple of weeks.
I've started fishing again on Plenty of Fish. Ahh, Read Deleted, how I've missed you. Still, I changed up my profile a bit for the new year, and added a non sucky picture for once. A shoutout to Darklight for being the only person to have me on her favourites list. The lady has taste. =) So, we'll see what we shall see. Unfortunately, there seem to be a lot of smokers on PoF right now.
Oddly enough, I'm headed off to her Farewell to Richmond party this evening, with an Angel Food Cake in tow, along with a mixed berry compote as well as some fresh whipped cream. I got a new handblender this week, and oh baby! The whisk really made a difference with the cake, especially on my arms. Here's hoping they overlook the fact that I forgot the vanilla in the cake. D'oh!
I didn't forget the vanilla in the cheesecake that I baked for yesterday. Once again the dynamic duo of me and our bubbly admin, conspired to commit acts of baking! She delivered a wonderful marble cake and I brought in a pan of cheesecake. I really should have known better, but no, damned fool that I am, I forged ahead. Since it's a double batch, I required 3lbs of cream cheese, half a dozen eggs, 2 cups (a pint) of sour cream and 2 cups of sugar. That was just the filling.
On the left, we have the batter going into the oven. That's a 13x9 pan of cheesecake!! On right right we have my almost perfect cheesecake as it's cooling. If I'd have turned the cheesecake halfway through, I don't think I'd have gotten the crack along the edge.
Still, it was probably my best cheesecake yet, and well, there's none left.

Oh yeah, and your cat is a slut. She used me for cuddles and petting and then fled. I'm sure if she had a PoF account she would have deleted it too!
