Online Dating: The Return

As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm back in full force with the online dating scene. I will succeed, eventually, but I really don't know what that means. I certainly like the confidence boost I get, and I've found that I take the rejections in stride.

One of the areas I need to improve on, and this extends beyond online dating, is saying no. I should have said no to Wbl a while ago. Pretty much right after she said she was moving to Edmonton, however, I didn't. I know what I want, and honestly, she was most of the way there. However, shifts got in the way, and weekends were booked. Neither of us wanted to make the time for the other. Christmas is a lousy time to look for a relationship. Still, she showed me some parts of Ottawa that I'd not seen or bothered to look at. I had fun doing her dishes and just chatting. I liked being a party of two for lunch at Moxie's.

That being said, I seem to have a habit of being the last man women date before leaving Plenty of Fish. So far, I'm two for two. Not that I'm reading anything into that.

In other news, I've instigated some activity on the old college mailing list, and have gotten in touch with a few people which is really nice. Here's hoping for a few more entries.

Finally, I was chatting with Darklight this evening, and she mentioned she didn't notice the lack of vanilla in the angel food cake. I had to agree, I didn't notice it either. This just goes to show, sometimes you need to pull the stick out, and not worry about perfection so much.

You usually find exactly what you're looking for only after you decide that you don't give a shit one way or the other.

It's a cliche, but it's also true.

Right now, I'm more doing this out of idle curiosity/boredom than anything else.
