Weekend End
You know you're getting old when you don't want go out and get trashed because it's gonna interfere with your nights sleep. As it was the Keith's speil, I had a great time chatting and drinking and chatting and drinking and what do you mean it's midnight? Pizza Pizza tastes great when you're drunk. Any other time... not so much.
Still it was nice to sit down and chat with the Foran Objets, Edly, Nail and his lovely wife, Hammer and sometimes to myself. Really, the only major goal was not to reek of booze for my date with the Singer on Saturday.
We'd decided to hit up dinner and a movie, and what a glorious day for a date. Because she lives downtown, we were able to do a walking date. From her place we walked to the Fox and Feather for dinner, after some brief indecision! Too many choices! But they fact that they had the patio open cinched the deal. Ok, so we didn't sit on the patio cause well... it was full of smokers. Still the restaurant was quiet and conversation got off to a slow start; I was still a little fuzzy despite the nap I'd taken (and needed).
Dinner was great. I had grilled chicken and linguine in a vodka rose sauce with spinach and sun dried tomatoes. Since the Singer had Italian the night before, she opted for the Cranberry Turkey Wrap, which she enjoyed. Entertainment was briefly provided by two young French girls who were annoyed that they got carded, and even more annoyed by the fact that they didn't have proper ID (ie not a drivers license or health card). I've rarely been carded but I've never taken exception to the fact when I have.
From the Fox and Feather, we walked up Elgin on a round about tour past Parliament towards the World Exchange Plaza. The sun was still shining and it was just nice to walk and talk. For the movie, we'd decided I'd agreed to go see Blades of Glory. It was your typical Will Ferrel movie; having not seen Anchorman or Talladega Nights, I can say unequivocally it wasn't as good as RJA says those movies were. Still, I laughed and was entertained. I just wasn't laughing when everybody else was.
Movie over, we opted to go back to her place for tea. It was around midnight when I was fairly falling asleep that I decided to call it and go home. I need my beauty sleep.
And now, the weekend is done. The work week upon us, though it'll be short, it's sure to be busy.

Lovely date, dude! Sounds like fun. Did ya kiss her (because you should have)?
I agree. You don't want to end up in the "friend zone"!
I've never been there - but I heard it's hell. ;)
Well, dinner and a movie at her place on Thursday.
Yeah! It takes dutch courage to lean forward and pucker up the lips...but you need to do it otherwise you won't know where you stand. Good luck for Thursday!
