The Oatmeal Challenge

It was an interesting day. I'm hitting my stride again at work, course I still hate my issues. I did bring in my truffles, which were a hit. The 66 of them lasted all of 15 minutes, once they were put out. The looks I got from the women eating them. Pure lust. I'll admit it; I was afraid that I wouldn't get out of there unmolested... or maybe I was hoping I wouldn't.

The results and culumnation of my baking effort can be viewed on the right. I rolled the truffles in powdered sugar, cocoa powder and walnuts. The latter two went very quickly indeed.

The day progresses through lunch and a failed attempt to get more cookie tins (again). We end up leaning against the Dutch Nasty's window sill since Nail is on vacation. DN mentions something about wall paper paste... er... instant oatmeal, and wonders aloud that maybe we should have a challenge where people eat the contents of a pouch without milk or water. Just open the pouch and go to town. Thus

The Oatmeal Challenge is born!

Naturally, RJA steps up to the plate. At first DN thought he was kidding. I didn't.
A Confident RJA stands ready before the Oatmeal Challenge

Down the Hatch!!!

Oh God, this powder is horrible!
In the end, RJA succumbed to nastiness that is that is the powder at the bottom of the packet. Still he remains confident and hopeful for future challenges, including the maple syrup challenge!

Do you guys have nothing better to do at work than eat? That's sick. There's something wrong with you people.

Ps: We sell hand-rolled truffles at my work for $11.00/100g. Think of the money you could be making!

We could do work, but that's highly over rated, mostly vexing and really not all that worth it.

There's something wrong with you people.

No argument here.

And that would be about $100 worth of truffles. Not bad for about 12 bucks worth of ingredients and 2 hours of work.

I'm glad that they liked your truffles, too bad you got out unharmed. ;)

I'll have it known that I did attempt to also eat the packaging in order to power through the sugary extras. Didn't help.

I've learned from loooong experience. Bake right before bed, and take (mostly) everything into work the next day.

It really does help when I know I'm baking for other people. Then I'm not eating my cookies, I'm stealing theirs.
