Revenge of the Dutch Butter Cookies

I made another attempt at the Dutch Butter cookies this evening and was successful. I did indeed miscount scoops of flour last night, as I added three cups where two was called for. That's what we in the trade call a boo boo. Everything in life is a learning experience. The real question is do you remember the lesson the next time you have to take the test?

As I'm sure most of you know by now, she just wasn't that into me. Hard to believe, I know... but apparently true. You see, the hard dirty truth of it all is this. I'm special. The rules don't apply to me. Against all odds, I will get up there and hit the Grand Slam in the bottom of the ninth, with two out to win the World Series in the seventh game, on the road (ed. which is impossible since you're not batting in the bottom of the ninth on the road). Apparently, I still have some lessons to learn.

While I'm a little disappointed, I think it's more that I didn't get to experience more. On the whole, this was a great experience. I got a first date. I spent an hour talking with a very nice lady, drinking bubble tea and having fun. If I had to do it over, there's really nothing I could do differently. Through it all, I was myself. She just wasn't into me. There's someone out there who is.

Good point Stephanie. Actually, I have a simple view on life:

1) Do your best at everything you do,
2) treat everyone with respect - but demand respect from everyone,
3) Remember that everything in life happens for a reason.

If you believe that, everything else seems to make sense.
